New Photography and Art Book

This is the first of many promotional teasers for my new book that will be available Fall 2012. My distribution company and my team are extremely excited to be putting this book on shelves. Anyone that purchased AV the Book will recognize a few of the faces from Team AV in this new book. The models, designers, hair and makeup are powerful and will make a mark. I’ve decided to push the meter beyond my past limitations without holding back. This hardback book will be 14×17 inches and filled with photography, art, and my journey. Holding back is no longer an option and avoiding destiny is a pointless fight so now I live to create.

Explaining B.o.B EPIC artwork

B.o.B Epic. When I received the call from TJ about the “EPIC – Every Play Is Crucial” project I was already in my B.o.B zone creating another visual piece for him that I will release on a later date. B.o.B got on the phone and said one thing, “Dwayne, just do you.” If you know B.o.B and his music you’ll understand right away that his mind and music goes hand in hand with my artwork. His single “Strange Clouds” inspired the art for EPIC. It took me about an hour to sit, clear the mind, and meditate so the images could flow. I started creating the art about 11PM and didn’t finalize it until around 5AM. I was in a spaced out zone the entire time. I explained to B.o.B and TJ that I wanted to just create without limitations, once the art was sent he was ready to mash the button. If you combine the earthly elements, mathematics, and multi-dimensions, you’re left with a celestial haze. As the viewer, you are in one dimension observing the next through a portal preparing for entry. I decided to use certain numerical color tones to enhance the colors, which gave it life. Once you listen to tracks on this CD like “Perfect Symmetry” and “New York New York” you will quickly realize that B.o.B is a true artist that pushes beyond the box. The art has more of a House/Electronica appearance but it’s for Hip-Hop, which shouldn’t surprise anyone that has been paying attention to his movement. I live to create and love working with artists that allow other artists to be creators.

Good night world, it’s 11:50PM Sunday Nov. 27th 2011 and I just wrapped up with the promotion for B.o.B’s “EPIC” Mixtape campaign. The artwork will be released to the world tomorrow at 2PM and he is really pounding the airways about it traveling from State to State everyday. The artwork for the cover was leaked last week on his twitter account and a few music/entertainment websites have been expecting this debut to be “EPIC.” The long awaited mixtape has features with Lil Wayne, T.I., Mos Def and many more. Be on the look out tomorrow Nov. 28th at 2PM. I will also be creating another post with the front, back and inspiration for his cover.

Art Inspired by a Pyramid

I was inspired by a Pyramid that was hand made in Egypt that I purchased in 2010 and it’s actually filled with sand from the Pyramids. For the past few days I haven’t been able to touch the computer without this vortex/abstract image coming to the forefront of my mind. It’s 1AM in the morning Saturday Nov. 26th 2011 and I’m wide awake after getting up super early to hit Macy’s for the Black Friday sale, Polo’s on deck! Now that my mind is alert and ready, the creating shall begin. Before creating I turn on the tunes, dim the lights, take time to meditate and clear the mind. After all that is done I just zone out and let the process begin.
