No Limits
A day I will never forget no matter how lame it makes me seem. On the way to Merritt Island Friday morning all I could think about was getting my new promotional truck back from Billy and the team. We’ve been knocking out vehicle wraps together for years now and this is my first mobile portfolio. When I arrived the team was hard at work like always but the job was a couple of hours from being complete which Billy explained.
After our conversation I took a walk outside the bay area with Gordon our client relations manager and consultant when we heard a huge roaring sound over our head. I immediately looked up into the sky to what reminded me of a scene from Independence Day. This thing was flying all over the place doing tricks that I’ve only seen on TV. We headed down to the beach, which is less than a quarter mile from the shop when we noticed people scattered up and down with heads held high.
First it was one then six appeared doing show formations. A woman walked up to us and started to explain that the planes were practicing for an air show taking place over the weekend. As I stood there under the sun getting two shades darker I couldn’t help but notice the inner child coming out of me. The noise, the people, the water, and the blue sky just added to this surreal moment for me. Standing there still amazed I had to remind myself that I’m a thirty-year-old man smiling like a child at these jets.
Then during one of their transitions a single jet started flying across the sky as if it were hovering. It seemed so unnatural after just witnessing this same jet zooming past me as if it were trying to leap into another dimension. After it hovered past me another one came and shot straight into the atmosphere so high I was blinded by the sun. At that moment I thought to myself how amazing our abilities are. We can create anything that our minds can fathom. The sky is not the limit and these jets are more than proof of that.
It was an awakening moment, so intense that I was stuck in a slight trance. Why am I here, and why now? The only answer I could come up with was creation. We are here to express and create the images from the world in our mind to the world we see around us. The feeling hit me like a ton of bricks. I paused to reflect upon personal situations that were bigger than they needed to be. I need to continue this path of focusing on the important things in life, expressing myself through art and trying to combat negative energy with goodness and kindness no matter how vexed I may become. Like I’ve said before I’m not perfect but I strive to be better. I know without a shadow of a doubt that my potential and your potential are limitless. We need to release ourselves from ourselves and just reach towards the bigger picture.

What a great read thank you for sharing. I grew up on an airforce base they would put on air shows regularly.
i was in the air force best feeling of the brute power we can create is feeling the jets turn on, take off, and fly…one of things i miss most…never got a chance to fly one or fly in one but i used to clean them…lol..thx 4 the share dwayne..brought back good memories..it is an immense feeling!
Very well said Dwayne, I couldnt agree with u more. If everyone just humbled them selves and challenge them selves to find that positive inner them the world would be a beautiful place. Yet some are too afraid what others will say when in actuality if they realize that the fear they have to let go is the only thing that’s holding them back from happiness, from peace, from love. I felt exactly how you felt recently… It was like all the talking just seemed to stop and I could only feel the sun on my skin and the wind across my face… I felt as if I wasn’t alone and I was suppose to be there at that moment… I was at the beach in Cocoa at a surfing tournament and my kids were in the water playing. As I watched them be so free I felt like I was so lucky to have had them. But I’ve shared too much here… I guess I just found this message to hit close to home;)
Dwayne your expression of emotion is endlessly gifted. Like you, I enjoy air and water shows. As a kid I enjoyed viewing them evey summer back home in Illinois with my family. Overall, you are a true inspiration and definitely a joy. Keep that positivity energy flowing.
Thank you for sharing, we can never express enough how very important it is to believe in the spirit from within…All of us, still have a little child in us…That’s why God gives us baby steps to take, it gives us time to handle the next step he reveals to us…Stay focused on the bigger picture and you will see father..blessings
